back to main    English Study Group (AP English Lit)

So in high school, you'll probably encounter classes that just suck.  I'm not saying that this class sucked, I'm just saying that classes like that exist :)  Anyways, you might even encounter a class which could theoretically be called English from hell, but then again, I'm not saying that this particular class has anything to do with what I'm saying.
I will say that the English department at Chelmsford is excellent (with exception of maybe perhaps, one class whom anyone that graduated in my year and was in the honors English circuit can attest to).  Teachers like Mr. Hazzard (a whole other story) made high school interesting (and perhaps, even enjoyable?).  Then, Senior Year rolls around and we come to a class like AP English Literature.
What can you say about a class like that?  It's like, when someone tells a joke and no one laughs.  They say, "You had to be there."  Mr. Kamal was...interesting.  AP English Lit was...interesting.  For classes like this one, you needed a study group in order to survive.  Otherwise you would go crazy memorizing the smallest details for each quiz or "hour exam" and fail it anyways.  So here's the 411 on the group.....

John Ho- "He's not going to put that on the test!"  In our year, he was the only guy in the class (oops, sorry about that Mr. Kamal).  This year, his brother is the only guy in that class(oops, sorry again Mr. Kamal).  He's very opinionated and usually thinks that he's right.  Always willing to argue, infuriate, but a valuable member to the group.  If it weren't for him always getting us back on track, we probably wouldn't have finished studying before midnight.  But then again, if we weren't arguing with him all night...
Kamal selected book:
Currently: At MIT majoring EECS & management

Euhwa Tran - "Jh--on!"  My bus buddy! :) Euhwa always argued with John about something during those study sessions.  Actually, we were usually all arguing with John about something.  I think Euwha's a genius, although she's quite gullible at times.
Kamal selected book: Mayor of Casterbridge  by Thomas Hardy
Currently: At Cornell  majoring in Asian Studies and History

Julie Wong - "How can I imagine that I know when I don't know?"  Organized with a set of complete notes which come in handy when I missed class (i know, i know, no apple award for me).
Kamal selected play: The Time of Your Life  by William Saroyan
Currently: At BU majoring in math education

Me- "I'm tired" Okay, so sorry, but I don't pay too much attention to myself when we're in a group or in class so I can't really write much about how I was.
Kamal selected book: 1984 by George Orwell
Currently: working on this webpage.
