Further interests of mine include phase transitions in correlated electron systems. I am particularly intrigued by the many-body localization and the superconductor-insulator transitions. Another fascinating aspect of phase transitions is the unusual thermoelectric phenomena close to quantum critical points, as well as in magnetically ordered state or unconventional superconductors. There, the transport coefficients are determined by the dynamics of vortices and related topological defects. In addition, I am interested in new electronic phases recently observed at oxide interface structures. One such system, the interface between LaAlO3 and SrTiO3, exhibits peculiar features which likely arise from the interplay of superconductivity and spin-orbit coupling. More generally, spin-orbit coupling can add new twists to conventional electronic states, which is part of my current research.
