AGENDA/MINUTES FOR LIVING GROUP COUNCIL MEETING

I. Roll Call & Introductions

II. IFC Update

F. Nominations now open for IFC Recruitment Chair election to be held on October 3, 2001
III. LGC Goals for this term (these are only my suggestions)
IV. Determine level of interest in joint events between LGC houses
There was some interest in holding an LGC social event, but no specifics were determined. Social announcements can be sent to the lgc-social list.
V. Discuss possibility of forming committees
The idea of forming committees was not very well received, particularly because the LGC is still a small organization. Instead, perhaps one large meeting for rush chairs about rush, or have Speaker talk to individual house presidents and rush chairs one-on-one to get a better idea of where each house stands.
VI. Plan frequency and schedule of meetings for fall term
It was determined that meetings should be held approximately every other week on Sunday afternoons. The next meeting will be at 2pm on Sunday, September 23, at Student House.
A tentative schedule of meetings will be sent to the list within the next few days.
VII. Nominations for LGC offices
A. Moderator serves as chairperson for meetings, facilitates discussion
B. Secretary keeps all records for the LGC, sets schedules and agendas for meetings in coordination with Speaker & Moderator, publishes regular minutes of the meetings of the LGC
One nomination for secretary Lauren Owens from WILG
Elections will be held at the next meeting on September 23.

VIII. General Announcements/Housekeeping
New mailing lists that will be active soon: lgc-presidents and lgc-rush, for presidents and rush chairs respectively, and lgc-exec for LGC officers.
lgc-social, for social chairs and those interested in events involving LGC houses, is already active.
lgc-reps is for the official house representatives, and lgc is the general list for announcements and discussion.
