I am currently a Sr. Machine Learning Scientist at Amazon Core Machine Learning Team headed by Ralf Herbrich. I got my Phd in Computer Science from Tufts University in July 2013 under Prof. Roni Khardon. Ihave been working closely with Prof. Alan Edelman at MIT Mathematics Department on Random Matrix Theory. Before coming to US, I graduated from the department of Computer Science of Tsinghua University in 2008 with a MSc. in Computer Science. I received a B.A degree in Management Information System from Beijing Information Technology Institute (BITI) in 2005.

My research interests are empirical and theoretical machine learning and random matrix theory, in particular:

  • Gaussian Processes, Bayesian Learning, Probablistic Graphical Models
  • Online Learning Algorithms, Learning to Rank
  • Statistical Learning Theory, Empirical Processes, U-Statistics and U-Processes
  • Random Matrix Theory, Free Probability Theory, Symmetric Functions
Recently, I have been working on forecasting algorithms and large scale forecasting systems.
