CRITERIA FOR PICKING LANDING SITES

Age of Local Rocks - Early Naochian-age to Amazonian terrain

Preservation of the Local Area - areas of fine-grained sediments or accessible subsurface environments

Area of Targeted Terrain - Terrain should be large enough to accomodate areas of uncertainty in landing trajectories

Concentration - Site should be chosen that most likely contained abundant life as opposed to an isolated event
