This launcher looks like it has come a long way from the previous sketch model. While not as obvious in function as the slingshot, it seems like it would be pretty fun to use.

From reading the description and looking at the rendering, I can't really understand fully what is happening. I would suggest adding labels or maybe doing a video of how it launches. If the design executes the goal as described, then it would be pretty solid.

There are some really great design decisions here in response to past feedback as you mention. I think that so long as you can keep other players out of the range of the launcher, then all safety concerns would be addressed.

There might still be a finger smash issue with the metal handles whipping forward towards the vertical aiming shaft. Perhaps space the two out a bit?

The acrylic will need to be very thick to take the load of a person leaning on the back end of the launch tube.

This design may be difficult to assemble. The joints between the shafts and the central tube will need to be extremely strong as depicted in the images.

The rendering looks very nice and smooth. I like how the glass actually looks like glass, and that there is an exploded view of it. Again, it'd be extra nice if there were more labels and maybe a video of how it works.
