Storyboard Beer Belly Bounce: innovativeness and potential

Client 1:

This is a nice physical game and is the kind of idea we are looking for for this project. Overall, everything here looks reasonable to bring to life as an experience for our guests.

Reviewer 2:

The story is quite interesting and impressive. It needs some body skills so that I am not sure whether every player could reach the bellies on each side of the wall without falling from the ropes in the middle. Also, how could the play game sense that all people have passed the room with the rope?

Reviewer 3:

I love the concept of swinging across the room! Its definitely an interesting idea that is not too physically demanding. However, it seems to engage only one person at a time while the rest of the team is watching. Is it possible to engage the whole team at the same time? Maybe make it such that the team members hold the yoga balls?

I would try to put some elements to explain why the floor cannot be touched though, perhaps put some decaying pieces of wood on the floor?

Potential, feasibility, user experience and human factors shown in the concept sketch, Swing Track

Client 1:

Some of the physical elements may be a little tricky. If the ramp slants up, is that to just slow down the players or for reset (or both)? Will that make the game too challenging to be trying to go "uphill"?

Reviewer 2:

The design is quite impressive though details are not quite good.

What is the width of the device? Is it possible for short people (5"5') kick bellies from the rope?

The ramp at the entrance side should also be put up to make players have enough gravity potentials to reach the other side.

The track seems not fixed enough to hold players. It would be better that the hang track could fully enclose the external track.

Reviewer 3:

I like the simplicity of the swing. The only concern I have is that once the player reaches the end of the room, he has to throw the swing back to the other side. As the rail is slanted at an angle or even if the rail was straight, there may be a possibility that the swing would get stuck in the middle.

Perhaps, attach a rope or a self returning mechanism for the swing? Or you can have two people cross the room first then one person has to cross back to pick up the others.

Client 1:

Where is the other half of the ball? Does it stick out the backside of the wall? Can you buy or fabricate a half of a yoga ball? What type of sensor would be used to sense the guest pushed off the ball?

Reviewer 2:

It is an interesting design. A further improvement design is to make an indicator mentioning players the ball has been kicked successfully.

Reviewer 3:

The idea is feasible and easy to implement. It would be good if the sheriffs can react to their bellies being stepped on..

Client 1:

Motion sensors will be used a lot throughout this venue. How should guests know not to touch the floor (besides trial and error)? Is the floor colored red? Why can't they touch the floor (thematically)? How does that part of this concept fit your Wild West theme?

Reviewer 2:

It is a necessary and meaningful design to detect players. I would suggest more pairs of sensors and align sensors diagonally to better detect players' motions. In real use, how do you cover these sensors?

Reviewer 3:

This idea is feasible and would be easy to implement. However, how do you plan to detect them touching the floor when on the swing? Are you going to put many lasers throughout the length of the room? Or perhaps you can look at floor panels that would react to pressure.

Sketching technique, clarity of storyboard and concept sketches, and their web presentation

Client 1:

Overall, this is a great idea and well conveyed.

Reviewer 2:

Overall it is good.

Some words in the sketches are not quite clear to see. The swing is drawn type of abstractly. There are some pencil remainings on the paper.

The website is concise. Just need the titles of each drawings larger.

Reviewer 3:

Overall, I enjoyed the presentation of the storyboard and the concept sketches. They are simple with no cluttering of information.
