Quality and thoroughness of human-use analysis and improvement suggestions

Reviewer 1:

You did a really good job of describing the user experience that Nintendo wanted for their customers. Your analysis of the game pad with respect to Super Smash Bros make a lot of sense and the improvements you mentioned would make it a better handset to play that specific game. However, I don't know how your analysis would apply to a variety of games. One of the biggest highlights of the WiiU game pad is the touch screen and for Smash Bros that's not a feature that is used at all. Nonetheless, I think it was a very interesting analysis that showed some really cool improvements in a competitive game like smash. It would be cool to see some external attachment that gives you a button layout like the one you mentioned.

Reviewer 2:

The report explores the function of Nintendo Gamepad thoroughly with the help of image and video illustrations. For the user experience part, users' reactions and comments are recorded in details, but one thing I think can be improved is to expand the user demography. Most of the users interviewed for this report seem to be all experienced gamers, and I feel new users who have used neither of the controllers may have different views from the experienced users. Also all the interviewed users seem to just use the Gamepad as a controller but ignored the screen function, it would more thorough this other predominant feature of the product at the same time

Reviewer 3:

A really thoughtful analysis of the Nintendo Gamepad user experience, with great observations of user gameplay. I thought the subject matter was interesting, and a great choice given the comparisons to the N64 controller and the clear consequences of bad user experience.

I suggest expanding on the possible improvements since the earlier analysis was so thorough. The placement and feel of the buttons are definitely a key part that needs improvement, but from what was observed, there are many areas for improvement. It would be great to think about a more dramatic change to the form of the Gamepad or to think about the whole gaming experience, not just the physical hardware changes.

Clarity and presentation of human-use experience analysis

Reviewer 1:

Your website was divided into clearly organized sections that made it easy to follow and read your analysis. I really liked the video gifs of the players using the game pad and the controller. The diagrams and the comparisons of the the controllers clearly showed the differences in button placement. Your drawing for the game pad improvement is really clean and simple. The only thing that was kind of hard to read was the home page with the white font on the WiiU game pad. Overall, I thought your website used a lot of intuitive diagrams and videos that complimented your analysis.

Reviewer 2:

The use of video and images makes the presentation of this report eye-catching and exciting. For the final solution part, the illustrations from different perspectives present the idea very clearly to the reader. Great job!

Reviewer 3:

Well laid-out presentation as well as great use of gifs and video to illustrate gameplay. It was smart adding them in since so much of the analysis is about how people press buttons while playing. I also liked the diagram of the button improvement to illustrate your thinking.

The website could be even clearer if there were sub-headers for each page. That way the reader could understand each section quickly. It also appears that the menu at the top of each page (except for the Home page) says "Human Use Analysis - Occulus Rift" instead of "Nintendo Gamepad".
