Quality and thoroughness of human-use analysis and improvement suggestions

Reviewer 1:

I wasn't sure what the solution to the gym equipment was. Because the menu navigation photos didn't show up, I couldn't see what I was clicking on and I just realized that the title of each webpage is really important for structuring the user experience study. Perhaps if you're going for simplicity, just put the whole study on one webpage that can be scrolled down like a blog post. Additionally, maybe more content would be helpful to introduce what the equipment in question was.

I think that the topic of choice is super interesting! I really like how you picked one specific type of product which would allow you to go into the details of that specific product. I also like how you had pictures of a user testing it out and helping to explain her experience. However, I think you should have maybe made more clear what the fallbacks of the device as well as what it is that users really want in the device (maybe with a pros and cons list, or even a page dedicated to the problems that arise when using it). Also, I think having a dedicated page about how you would redesign the Total Gym XLS would have been nice to have, so that you could go into more detail about it (and maybe have a picture or something to go along with it).

I think Aron did a good job of introducing the intended functions and features the fitness device have as well as providing a detailed example of demonstrating how to use this machine. A good use analysis is further made through the demonstrated using experience. I also have a few suggestion for this analysis:

1. It seems that some of the design improvements are proposed based on one single user. I'm concerned that the issues stated may also possibly resulted from improper use of the machine. In order to obtain a more reasonable conclusion, more samples need to be taken for the purpose of analysis.

Clarity and presentation of human-use experience analysis

Reviewer 1:

The website was difficult to navigate and hard to read. It looked like it had been adapted directly from the html of the Adventures of Little Dude but the pictures for the chapters weren't replaced properly so navigation was hard. There were lots of html typos and the images were so large it messed with the content.

Some of the pictures for the menu bar at top don't show through for me, although on the pages that they do show up on, they look really good! Also in general, while I really liked the content of all of the pictures that you have on there (pictures of a user that you actually observed using the device), the formatting made it kind of difficult to see what they were showing and it might have been more effective if the pictures had been centered and slightly smaller in size. Also, the text seems to be all over the page for me, so it would have been nice if there were a few defined formats that you were using (although this might have just been my screen?)

When I first open the homepage of this human use analysis, I found out there is a issue of images displaying, and the layout of images and texts appear not organized. Maybe it's the issue of coding. Except for the displaying issue, his presentation is pretty easy to follow and I'm really impressed by his improvement in term of how to make the product better instead of just problems associated with desirable functions.
