Quite well done and thoughtful. The website quality was very high and the analysis was done in detail. I like the summary of your analysis in the bullet points (you get to the point right away in first bold statement).

Improvements:

1. I'm not sure why saving things to memory is important from the site. It would be beneficial to show why that is a critical aspect of the calculator rather than taking a derivative or something similarly challenging.

2. Incorporate the credit to your users. In your intro you mentioned they had some improvement recommendations, but I didn't see them come in to the improvement / analysis section with any recs.

I really liked the analysis. I personally thought it was interesting because especially in high school calculators were very critical aspect of my academic performance, however so many people from small time grocers to grad students use them, so topic was well chosen. For the suggested modifications, I liked how specifically different buttons and functions were targeted for overhaul or modification. A designer would be able to take this analysis and almost have something to work with. In terms of suggestions, I think perhaps choosing a Texas Instruments calculator may have been better; I think they have a much larger market share especially in the US. I liked how the users were given specific tasks to complete, and not just asked their thoughts on the matter. I wonder if also providing records of their successes/failures using the device may have helped the analysis. I wonder if summarizing that numerically somehow would benefit the analysis? Anyway, very well done!

Amazing work in terms of the depth and quality given to this user-experience analysis. All the design details, experience and improvements are extensively researched and described throughout the website. The other user interviews were very useful and taken strongly into account. Your analysis was well researched and the problem was well understood. I appreciated the background information and history in the first paragraph; it made me realize why it had the current design flaws it does. I also appreciated how methodical you were in your user testing and that you shared the testing protocol with us on your webpage. It was also interested to see the difference between an experienced user and an inexperienced user.

Two improvement suggestions:

- Try different accent colors. I find the red to be hard to read and also a very alarming color. Maybe a dark orange would be more readable and less alarming to look at.

- Make a better drawing or visual representation of your new design. I had a hard time understanding the photo attached in your redesign section- was that something you designed? I wasn't sure how the improvement elements matched the redesign; if you did color coding and highlight different aspects like you did for the existing solution I think it would make it much more readable.

Your website is great- I really like the clean, minimal layout with a photo on the right side and clear menu on the left highlighted with color. I also think the jumplinks with the scrolling single page web design are great for readability and give the user option to do either one. I also really enjoyed the color coding and highlight of different aspects of the user interface in the existing solution. I found that easy to read and understand as well, even though I haven't used one of these calculators in a while!
