Quality and thoroughness of human-use analysis and improvement suggestions

Overall this was a thorough analysis, and laid out the pros and cons of the product. I liked the background about the product, and the fact that it is a bestseller on Amazon was very interesting. One thing that I would suggest in the future is to try and get feedback about the product from people outside of your circle of friends. What do the Amazon reviews say? Can you find anyone else in the area (maybe at a dog park) that uses this that you could talk to? I also think the video was very helpful. It could have been interesting to include the videos of the other people trying to get the product on the dog, since you had the fastest time, we didn't get to see people really struggle with the product.

I think you did an awesome job explaining what a dog harness is, why it's different than a collar and why people would use it. The product description and identifying user needs were also very thorough. I especially liked the video in the trying it out tab because it was really helpful to see how much Rufus moved around and how difficult it could be getting the harness on even if it only took a couple of minutes because you were used to it. In addition, it was great that you separated the analysis to first time users and users who already knew how to use it. A suggestion for improvement is that in your solutions, you can maybe think about different ways to make the first time experience smoother. For example, in your analysis you said the logo was a good indicator that that side should be on the chest, but other people didn't know that so is there some other indication you can use so that even first time users know what the orientation should be? Also, it would've been nice to know what material you were thinking of using for your redesign.

The Puppia Training Harness review covers all of the items of a user experience review in a succinct and engaging manner. In particular, I thought the interviews brought a lot of value to the review as a whole, providing insight into what users with different experience levels with the dog and the product might look like using the product. The same goes for the user experience breakdown between the first two weeks of use and the weeks after getting acquainted with the product. Although the video of Rufus and the "Pull-On Steps" list fully describe the user experience, the site would benefit from a more detailed and segmented graphical explanation of the putting-on experience, particularly with regard to the three straps that need to be buckled in place. This could be accomplished by adding commented images after each one of the steps, with arrows pointing at the action that needs to be completed. This addition will also help the reader understand how the solutions proposed in the "Redesigned" page truly resolve the design issues of the Puppia harness. With respect to the proposed solution, I thought the description of how the rear snap buckle would be modified to limit the catching/snagging of fur was not very clear. How would the buckle be lined? The addition of a third image that shows the unlined vs the lined buckle would reduce the ambiguity of this solution.

Clarity and presentation of human-use experience analysis

I think the presentation of this analysis was very clear and concise, which helped me fully understand the product and it's problems. The way the pros and cons were laid out made it very easy to understand everything, even though I have never had a dog. Something to add in future webpages is to make the side bar scroll down with the page, so that when I am done reading a page, I don't need to scroll back to the top in order to go to the next one.

The website was very clear and sidebar navigation was really straight forward to use. The tables really laid out all the information clearly and the video was especially helpful. I think maybe the colors could have been a bit brighter instead of different shades of gray since this experience with your dog is usually a very happy one!

Images, video and text are appropriately chosen to convey information throughout the website. Navigation, font size and color scheme aid the reader. I would recommend reconsidering the order of "Key User Need" and "The Product" given that readers that are not dog-owners or that are less familiar with these products might want to know what to look for before jumping into what this specific harness has to offer.
