Quality and thoroughness of human-use analysis and improvement suggestions

Your pictures in the experience tab were very helpful since they showed a lot of details of the user experience with the product under study. Your user interviews were very thorough and you did a good job of condensing all of the information the users gave you into a pros and cons list. I appreciated that you included a references tab. You have 5 up/down buttons on your redesign. I think you could have used one and changed the displays of the different settings (incline, speed, distance, time, and workout) such that it is intuitive to the user how to use the down/up button to set these settings. Using one button instead of five could help decrease confusion if the display is done correctly. It was not clear to me why you kept the number pad (I assumed that's what the grid of squares with the rectangle at the bottom was) since in your "Feedback" tab one of your users said he/she didn't use it. I recommend adding a paragraph explaining why you have the number pad in your new design.

The report thoroughly covers all the topics relate the user experience with the treadmill. The process of using the treadmill is described in words as well as presented using illustrations. One thing that I think should be included is a detailed description of all the different buttons on the control panel, because it's not very clear for people who have not used them what are different buttons and screen are used for, so when looking at the final improvement, it's not very clear to the reader which buttons or functions are taken out and which are retained. In addition, a demographic summary of the people who are interviewed for this particular product, it would be interesting to see how people's opinions about the design change based on their training backgrounds, such as a professional trainer and a student who goes to the gym occasionally.

This human-use analysis of the treadmill is high quality and very good! The interview gives very good background and context to the treadmill. The walk-through of the entire experience and programming the treadmill is a nice illustration to the viewer to really help them understand the user experience. The analysis also includes plenty of feedback from other users. The only part that doesn't seem as thorough is the improvements section; there is not as much detail as in the other parts of the analysis. I would suggest to explicitly show how your solution improves on the current one; with the drawing that you included, it seems too similar to the current design, but maybe a side by side comparison with an annotated photo would solve that. Additionally, I think addressing more of the problems with your solution would help to make the analysis feel ultimately more complete. For example, both you and your interviewees highlighted that the headphone jack was unnecessary - what would you do about that? Would you completely eliminate it or move it to a different location?

Nice job documenting AND interviewing people ! The interviews add both a nice qualitative touch to the experience and quantitative as 90% of the people don't use the presets.

Clarity and presentation of human-use experience analysis

The flow of information in your website is logical. I would recommend adding buttons to navigate to other pages or to the top of the current page to your pages in order to save the user of your website from having to scroll back up to click on another tab. This is minor but can make your website more user friendly. The formatting of your "Improvements" page did not seem balanced. I would suggest placing all text to the left of your sketch. In your 'Experience" tab, some of your pictures are not the same size as or aligned with the rest. It felt like you were going for a grid aesthetic in this page, but this was disrupted by the inconsistency in size and alignment of pictures. I would be more consistent.

The presentation is made very clear to the reader with all the graphic illustrations and clear section and subsection headings. One small thing that can be improved on is to include a more detailed description of different buttons drawn out on the scheme.

Your website is very well organized and the layout is simple, but modern. You have lots of good pictures and this makes the analysis very clear, since viewers can reference what you are describing by finding it in the pictures. Having everything centered in the middle of the screen helps make it easy to read. Two minor suggestions would be to add navigation links to the bottom of the page so that they user doesn't have to scroll back up to the top to go to the next page. Another would be to revisit the design of your improvements pages - the text and the sketch of your solution are currently awkwardly positioned and this is the only page that doesn't flow as well as the other ones.

I menu is nice but I would as a reader I would like buttons at the bottom of the text so I don't have to scroll back up. Your layout is clean and reads easily -- nice !
