Quality and thoroughness of human-use analysis and improvement suggestions

Interesting problem that I personally face often, but I think the analysis could use a little work. Maybe use more examples to help viewers understand the problem better. Solutions are sound, but could be more detailed.

I initially expected this human-use analysis to be focused on the devices - the washers and dryers themselves - rather than the system that they are applied within. However, the critique was focused on the operational effectiveness of the overall laundry system. I think the topic is interesting, although it felt that it was treated with a cursory approach. I think it would have been wise to try and observe other users in the residential laundry room and interview them on their experience. While this process seems pretty simple, different people may have different approaches on how to use the room (e.g., some people may prefer to just stay in the laundry room and do work, and their critique could be to provide more space for those activities). I also think you could have tried to take a more systematic approach in thinking about what the user needs are. For example, you mentioned that a recently used washing machine made you feel uncomfortable. Why was that? Should washing machines be dry before the next user loads their laundry? Perhaps this is an important requirement; it is difficult to tell from this analysis.

I thought the topic selection was really appropriate. All of us have felt the pain of not having laundry capacity. The user experience was very thorough in highlighting all of the shortcomings. The proposed solutions would certainly be effective in reducing some of the downsides. However, I would have liked to see some discussion on their practicality. Ie, installing and maintaining washer/dryers sets on each floor is very expensive. Additionally, who would be responsible for building and maintaining an app to tell you when your laundry is done. I would have liked to see some intermediate solutions that resolve some of the problems at a lower cost (ie, a website that tells you how many dryers are free or a place to put your contact information so people can call you to remove your laundry.

Clarity and presentation of human-use experience analysis

There's nothing wrong with a basic website, but your layout needs work. Items in lists should have their own line, and overall, it was difficult to read. The fact that the text spans the entire page doesn't help. The pictures could use captions - as is, they don't seem to add much to the analysis since it's not clear what they show.

The website is simple and easy to read through, but I think this assignment would have been aided by using a multi-page design to break up the different characteristics of the analysis. I also viewed this on a wide monitor, and it filled the entire screen, which made it a little difficult to read. Some additional visual content in addition to the text would have elevated the aesthetics of this page somewhat. I also noticed that there were some symbols (such as apostrophes) which did not load correctly. I had this problem when pasting from Word into Brackets; retyping the problematic text in Brackets will fix this.

The website design is sparse and functional. I think the images would have been more impactful if they were spaced out and had captions on them. There is slight ambiguity on the order we're supposed to look at them.
