I thought it was smart to send out a survey to classmates to get some basic information on how they use the product. This was good primary data and served as the foundation for the redesign.

For the redesign considerations, perhaps some sketches could have helped bring the ideas to life a bit more. For example on the plastic sheets, how do they slide in? Does that attenuate the power at all? What about the back wall or rotating base?

Also, perhaps consider designing microwaves towards a narrower audience of college students. Maybe minimal buttons (30 sec increment only maybe?) easy cleaning, and sold through university channels.

I think the analysis was very good. There are thousands of microwave models on the market, but he defined his scope such that he could make concrete improvements. I really liked the user poll because it gave quantitative data to the user experience. I think it was the right choice to limit this analysis to college students because it kept the analysis focused and didn't push him to try to design one microwave for all target demographics. I liked how the redesign focused on aspects that would increase usability without increasing cost.

Overall the presentation was clear. There was ample use of white space so the site did not feel crowded. I felt that more use of font sizing/formatting could help steer the visual hierarchy and improve the skim value. The largest text at the top of each page is your name, and while authoring your work is important perhaps something related to the review should have been the main focus. A few instances of the fonts not rendering properly occurred. Not sure why.

The website was very easy to use and understand. The video was informative, but at 0:36, the other roommate very clearly says "motherf---".

The pages were the right length so that it wasn't a pain to scroll up to the top to navigate to the next tab. Information was presented cleanly and well spaced.

The layout and structure of the analysis were great! Your apostrophes and quotes aren't rendering correctly, but I think that's because you're copying and pasting text into your html file. If you go back to the file and delete all the apostrophes and quotes and retype them in the editor, that should solve the problem!
