Feedback on experience depicted in the storyboard as an Open World Experience

Client 1:

Having two unique gameplay activities for dedicated teams may pose challenges. The teams will tire of these activites at very different rates, and it may seem too long for the button mashers, and too short for the slingshot operator.

Client 2:

Fun! I like how you've paired it back to a 'shooting gallery' from a whole room experience.

1. I think it's very nice to have an ancient Greece room in the Open World as their culture and achievements played a significant role in the history of human beings.

2. Although, Slingshot was not one of the 12 labours of Hercules, the targets can be designed similar to the animals/dragons/monsters that needed to be defeated by him. This can strengthen the feeling of being in ancient Greece in the players.

3. I am not quite sure how many people can be actively engaged in this game as the slingshot is currently designed as a device that can be operated by one person.

I like the theatrical experience you are portraying, and I think users would have a great time interacting in such a scene. I think that there is a lot going on here, and players wouldn't normally pass through it on the first try (which is a good thing in my opinion!). I also think there may be some confusion regarding if they should touch both the green and the blue tiles, which to my understanding, they should. The 'scoreboard' is interesting as well, and I'm not exactly sure if this would be the best option... instead, more simply, once you hit all the targets, you get to escape the room.

I really like the Zeus vs. Poseidon battle idea as it really adds excitement. It's really cool to see that you really took what people said to heart and plan on putting tiles on the walls instead of the floor because I think that is easier to implement. It also sounds like a fun game that would take some practice in launching the ball so people have the ability to get better. I'm not really sure how this resets though and how you would know how many people are going into the room?

I like the idea of having to battle a Greek god and I think it works best in this Open World Experience. I think having a rating for how well you are beating the boss is a good way to track points for teams. I'd say my only big concern with the game would be to figure out how players wouldn't be able to take the balls needed to knock down the kraken. If the balls are in expensive and plentiful then it might not be that big of an issue since they are only dispensed one at a time. I also think the layout should be larger for the slingshot area. The storyboard depicts it as a small portion of the room while the tile portion takes up most of it. Since the game is only described to be 3 minutes long I would consider being careful about how much time you expect teams to figure out how to start dispensing balls. As long as it's not too confusing for teams to figure out I think it would be fine. Just make sure teams have time to play the main game of the room.

Reviewer 7:

The concept of Zeus versus Poseidon seems exciting as users will be amused by the slingshot challenge, and the button pressing for ammo will keep the rest of the team members busy. It might be that I am unfamiliar with ski-ball - do all of the balls get returned or just the ones that were unsuccessful? If all of the balls get returned it might not be particularly advantageous to the shooter to have more than 3-4 balls? If this is the case, I wonder if the successful balls (or maybe all the balls) shouldn't be returned until the partners successfully press the correct buttons? Overall the challenge to engage all users and the progress bar are good incentives- I wonder if the progress bar could even show how many stars the user would get if the game ended at that point?

Reviewer 8:

I think the idea has great potential. It sounds very fun to shoot balls at targets using a slingshot! I do wonder though how the guests know that they are on Zeus's side, and that scoring for Poseidon gives them a lower score. I think if you choose Zeus and Hades rather than Poseidon it would be clearer who would be the winning side since Hades is more associated with evil than Poseidon. Additionally, Hades would use the color red on the score bar, which clearly indicates losing life. And that way guests who are not well versed in Greek Mythology could still figure out what the goal is quickly.

This is awesome! It seems like you've made a great model of the slingshot and carefully considered how you might rotate it. One thing you can't tell in this model that would make a huge difference is 1- how easy it is for people to use and actually hit the target. Also wondering what the height would be like would you have to lay on the ground and use it or would it be standing up? In the next model I would think about some of these usability issues which will be key in the experience!

Great theme! This would be an engaging and educational room for all ages.
