Feedback on experience depicted in the storyboard as an Open World Experience

Client 1:

This sounds like a really neat game! I think that the number of sensors you are going to need is going to be crazy high though, so I could see cost being an issue.

Client 2:

Great idea for game play. We've discussed several times around the office doing touch capacitive rock holds. I think changing the lights to reflect what colors they can touch, is a great idea.

Reviewer 3:

This is a fun storyboard! However it seems like players have to lose the first round by stepping on the wrong jelly beans in order to understand the game. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but it seems unnecessary. You can totally do what it shown in your concept sketch with the twister wheel or the loudspeaker that announces what color jelly beans players should try to reach. Also, you guys might want to give players some time, maybe 10 seconds, to reach the specific jelly bean colors, since reaching them might be hard. In addition, you can have a mix of colored tiles on the floor and colored jelly beans, so that players who don't necessarily want to clim the wall or are injured and physically can't do it, would stand on the correct tiles that matches the color the twister wheel is showing.

Reviewer 4:

I liked the idea of using the rock wall. In combination with the colored tiles, this is a very engaging storyboard and involves the whole team. Have you thought about victory being getting across a wall rather than reaching the top? Other than that, great storyboard!

Reviewer 5:

It is an interesting game, while may be too energetic for some players.

Reviewer 6:

Good idea that can have adjustable difficulty with the colors changing at different paces. There might be issues with people who are color blind due to the variety of colors (might be able to supplement with specific shapes assigned to each color).

Reviewer 7:

I like how this is a new, more interesting take on a regular rock climbing wall. How will you account for different numbers of players? For example, do the players need to hang onto all the blue jellybeans or just a few of them as long as they are holding onto blue ones? What if players just try to hang from a single jellybean? Also, are players allowed to stand on the edge when they grab the jellybeans or do they have to only be standing on jellybeans?

Reviewer 8:

I think this is a really fun idea, and climbing on walls is always fun.

One concern is that having them climb to the top of the wall, which is 10ft and therefore higher than normal bouldering, is safety. Another issue is that if their heads reach above the top of the wall, then the aesthetic of the room is broken. So maybe keeping the hand holds lower would be a good idea.

Reviewer 9:

This seems like a great game and very readily scalable to multiple team members, especially with the new Twister adaption. One additional idea that you might already be considering is that a team will scan into each room so you will know how many users are playing and you can adapt the game for the number of players. Also there is a different way that you can track which user is which player number, such as displaying the username with a player number on a board at the beginning instead of standing on the numbers. This would allow you to assign different points to different users, then users could get their own scores on the room (which is how 5witz is now tallying their rooms).
