Feedback on the concept explored by the sketch model

Client 1:

Seemed to work great in the presentation - works well in the video. Simple but robust, and not overly complicated. Good job!

Client 2:

When I read your storyboard I asked myself how you were going to reset the game and close the holes once a ball had been dropped through them, so I'm glad this concept answered both questions!

Reviewer 3:

The magnet maze has a clear intent in terms of how it is to be solved, but the connection to the rest of the room theme, as well as potential for self-resetting, are a bit unclear.

Reviewer 4:

The sketch model looks into how to trigger the spotlight. It seems like the way you chose to implement it shows that it's definitely possible and not too complicated. The paint and black light spotlight exploration was pretty cool, and seems like the blacklight is a good way to reveal a secret message. Though, from the image it seems like you can make out the numbers that are painted on, so for a future iteration it could be made more discrete.

Reviewer 5:

See above comments but the actual model itself is a good idea to test how the maze would actually work and if it would trigger the LED light. I still feel like it's out of place in the larger storyboard, but as a game it's cool. To solve the above problem it could be a "museum of games" or something else which would allow you to do a lot of gags! But not sure why a painting would be in a museum of games. Would have to think about that.

Reviewer 6:

One of my initial concerns was if this game would easily be taken over by an over eager person in the group. So addressing this idea was definitely an important one.

Reviewer 7:

You wanted to make sure that you could make an LED light up based on the ball reaching a target and then reset the balls when it goes off. It looks like it did just that.

Feedback on the execution of the sketch model

Client 1:

Well executed.

Client 2:

It works! Huzzah. Only question: you block the hole by putting something down behind it. Is it possible that if you brought another ball to the now-closed hole, the ball might get stuck on the lip of the hole?

Reviewer 3:

The works-like model clearly illustrates several electro-mechanical features that will need to be present and refined in the final gag. It would also help to have a mockup of the actual human interaction (lifting the magnets with a tethered external magnet) to ensure that it is feasible to lift and drop the magnets into the right slots (e.g., release mechanism to remove magnets from one another). While the electro-mechanical components might be more technical in nature, there may be a number of challenges in the more basic game mechanics (and just dealing with magnets that want to stick to one another).

Reviewer 4:

This was well implemented and clearly works well. The painting also looked really cool and worked pretty well.

Reviewer 5:

I like that there was a video on the website! Also that you did the not just the maze but how it would illuminate the painting and how a secret message might be show (but not depicted to the naked eye). The maze model could be a little neater/tighter with the foam core, even though it's not a looks like model would be good to make it as accurate as possible to make sure it works the way it would actually work.

Reviewer 6:

I'm not sure about the size of the game board. What is the scale. Right now it seems like it might be too small to fit too people at once. Will everyone be able to engage at once? This may be addressed already but I can't tell from the model itself.

Reviewer 7:

It worked! The reset mechanism could have been more clear in the video but the video did a good job demonstrating the concept.
