Feedback on the concept explored by the sketch model

Client 1:

I would think about breaking this out into different plaques or examples around the room - making it more of a 'searching' game for the clues, as well as a puzzle to figure out what pattern is being beeped.

Any printed fabric or material for pages that turn will be destroyed in minutes, no matter how durable or 'rip stop' it claims to be.

I would also keep the clue messages shorter - they don't need to be long. People will lose interest very quickly if they have to read a full paragraph.

Client 2:

As I said above, I like that your code book has a bunch of stories, rather than simply listing out every letter. It will make people feel clever when they figure out what to do. And so many games already have really straightforward code-breaking mechanisms; this is a nice change.

Reviewer 3:

Overall, the concept shown is clear, as the translator for the code. It's a bit unclear from the description of the sketch what you were hoping to test. How was the code received by potential players? Was it simple to understand the difference between | and / for example. Also do the three separate stories link up at all? There's potential to theme it together and incorporate the theme into the look of the room for e.g. planning a revolution or spying on someone important etc.

Reviewer 4:

I think this concept brings in a very good, old timey theme. My thoughts:

-I really like how you sneakily included each letter of the alphabet and the numbers 1-9 without being too obvious.

-I am, again, concerned with how long it will take to translate. Could this diminish the overall thrill?

Reviewer 5:

I like that you don't just give the alphabet. The translation guide is intuitive to use but might be difficult for words in the middle. You may consider mapping the lines of text and code 1:1. Having a book means that only 1 or 2 people can use it at a time. Maybe have the code displayed as posters so that multiple teammates can participate at a time.

Reviewer 6:

I'm not really sure what problem you're trying to explore with the sketch model but it looks great.

Feedback on the execution of the sketch model

Client 1:

Conveys your idea cleanly. Good job.

Client 2:

Yep, that's a book. Not much to say about it. You'll have to test whether people understand what | and \ mean.

Reviewer 3:

I like the display of the code, it looks like what I'd expect a translator to look like. Perhaps aligning both the text to the top/center of the book would make it look more like a finished product/published book translator.

Reviewer 4:

The model itself is really well done, it looks clean and the script is very beautiful. Some thoughts:

-I cannot tell what questions you were trying to answer with the model. Did you run any tests? Were you trying to figure out difficulty level?

Reviewer 5:

Looks like a book.

Reviewer 6:

The sketch model is great. It also seems like it functions as a looks-like and does a great job at that as well
