Feedback on the concept explored by the sketch model

Client 1:

Great looks for these - I love that you've explored different concepts for buttons. But I fear you're trying to reinvent something that is an off the shelf product.

I would recommend looking at a point controlled LED ring (from Adafruit, or similar 'neopixel' kind of product) that mounts around an existing button that could be RGB or single color. (Suzo Happ has every button you could ever want, and they're designed to take millions of cycles.)

Client 2:

I like the button, I think that product will work.

I would consider a having the button stay red or some other color once the virus has destroyed it, helping to signal to the guest that it is no longer usable for the reminder of the game.

Also once a virus has attacked a button, even if a guest saves it does it lose some of it 'life' if so is this indicated somehow?

Reviewer 3:

The use of neopixel is reasonable, but a cheapter alternative may be possible in the final implementation - such as designing your circuitboard based on an ATTiny. But since I don't fully understand what the storyboard is, I can't tell whether the design for this is good or bad.

Reviewer 4:

I think the concept of the glowing buttons to be pressed is good; I don't know if people will understand that the three second leeway exists, or if it may make the gameplay too easy because the time was actually pretty long in the demo. Otherwise I think going to "red" is a pretty intuitive way to demonstrate the button or node is compromised, so overall effectively developed concept.

Great application of the Adafruit device. How to you plan to wire a room based on the Adafruit device (make it large scale?)

Feedback on the execution of the sketch model

Client 1:

Great little prototype board! It showed your design intent with the lighting effect very well. I'm not sure if that product is robust enough to survive what it'll need to do - but a really great start to show what you're thinking.

Client 2:

I really like this model, the descriptions/videos/pictures are clear and easy to see/read and understand.

There are a few typos in the text.

Since I don't fully understand what the storyboard is, I can't make any judgements about the execution.

Reviewer 4:

For a works-like model, this is a nice demo that clearly demonstrates the color switching functionality. Because the model was supposed to show the works-like features of the whole button, it would have also been interesting to see maybe some modeling of the depressing mechanism that would interface between the users finger and the actual LEDs, since in the demo it seemed the contact area on the pcb was very small. Overall well done!

Reviewer 5:

Worked super well during the in class demo! Looks like a fun game to play if it were the dimensions of the room.
