Innovativeness and potential of The Acrobat storyboard

Client 1:

I like the idea of dodging lasers and deactivating the security by pushing buttons. This is a neat idea. What is the point of the museum projection? It seems to add complexity but doesn't add anything to the gameplay?

Reviewer 2:

I really like the idea of combining the fun physical aspect of moving between lasers with the force plate to turn on/off the lighting system. I also like that the buttons change between rounds (to make it harder to repeat as easily). You could think about adding a coordination aspect between players hitting the buttons. Maybe they have to hit all of the buttons at the same time? Maybe after one button is pressed a countdown starts? You could also think about projecting a countdown on the wall(the burglary alarm or something) that stresses out players while they're playing.

Reviewer 3:

I really really like this take on the traditional "wind your way through the lasers" gag. Having the players memorize the laser layout is an awesome trick, and perfect for small groups because they can trigger the grid view for each other. I'm not 100% how very dark lighting will work in the open-roof configuration, but there must be a way to do it. In terms of repeatability, challenge, and group play, this idea is a slam dunk. Laser grids are also a well-known gag, so you won't have to invent any new tech. Great job with this one!

Innovativeness and potential of The Louvre storyboard

Client 1:

This room looks complex. Keep in mind that the rooms need to be automated and they reset automatically. Some of the things mentioned here will be difficult to have meet this criteria.

Reviewer 2:

I like the idea of interacting with he room to find objects! This room seems both interesting (spy style), but also has an art heist aspect to it. Things that could be thought about: resetting gun and picture in game, why using a gun.

I like that different parts have to be put together and it's done in a interesting/clandestine way.

Reviewer 3:

I'm very torn with this idea because I like it so much but I'm a bit concerned about the technical feasibility. The idea of searching museum patrons and your surroundings for the components of a tool to make a heist is really great- it's challenging, innovative, and is great for a group doing searches together. I'm a bit worried about building either animatronic robots for the museum-goers or using real people. It might break immersion a bit or be technically difficult. If you can somehow create the illusion of a crowd and then hide items around the room, that would be great and maybe a good work around. Finally, I think the self-resetting aspect might be difficult here. HAving the goal be to take the painting makes resetting difficult. I wonder if the goal could be to hide it in some other box and hide your tools so you're not "convicted" of the robbery. I'm sure there are other work-arounds, but the repeatability might need to be considered a bit!

Innovativeness and potential of The Estimate storyboard

Client 1:

This idea has potential but needs to be refined. Do guests have as much time as they need to get the weight right? How is what you're supposed to do communicated?

Reviewer 2:

This game is very game-showy to me and I actually like that. It requires purely knowledge which is not something I've seen in many of the storyboards I've read. However, I think that you could involves some more teamwork aspect into this game -- for example maybe judge every based on the players weights. They could stand on force plates and then have to know their own weight to add up to what the computer wants.

Reviewer 3:

I think that this gag could be incorporated into a larger room activity, but on its own you may want to add another level of complexity or mechanic. In terms of repeatability and self-resetting, this idea is great, but it is a single-player game and more luck-based than skill-based which may frustrate some. This idea seems the least fleshed out, so it would be awesome to see a second iteration!

Storyboard design and website presentation and execution

Client 1:

The website is well laid out and easy to navigate. The storyboards could be made a little clearer. The writing should be typed as it is hard to read.

Reviewer 2:

I think the drawings are good and can explain what's happening. I liked the website, but wished the storyboards were either large (zooming didn't make the text bigger) or where more integrated into the webpage (so it didn't look like a scanned piece of paper). Overall though the storyboards on white let me focus on the content and not on random stuff on the website.

Reviewer 3:

I like the overall look and flow of your storyboards! There is a logical flow that goes along with your consistent drawing style. It would be nice to have clearer captions and possibly a longer storyboard for "The Estimate." With more time, it would also be great to move beyond simpler line drawings and begin to add shading and more 3D effects! I really liked the museum "projection" in the first storyboard. Although a bit unorthodox, it cemented the effect very well. Overall nice job!

Room theme, Museum Mania: engaging and interesting? identifiable with target users?

Client 1:

I think that a museum heist theme is a great idea! These games should probably be either developed further or modified to fit the theme.

Reviewer 2:

This theme was done well and combined both physical, mental, and puzzle aspects. Using a Museum Heist theme is also interesting -- it's something you see in the movies a lot. With some small adjustments I think each of these rooms could be a lot of fun to play.

Overall I think you could add "Front Door" aspects, or themeing/hints on the outside of the room to clue players into what they'll be doing inside.

Reviewer 3:

Yes definitely! Especially for the older end of this age group that has seen heist movies such as Ocean's 11 or Pink Panther, etc. Although the more traditional games such as the laser grid will probably be more popular, I like how you've added twists to make these even more cool!
