There was the first meeting of the Estates General yesterday. Claude insisted on spending the evening in the saloon down the street, waiting for information to come in. When he finally did come home, he didn't have much to say, rather he simply had a worried look on his face. After much prodding he finally revealed to me what was troubling him so.

"The revolution is upon us."

I don't think that I was properly equipped for such a statement. I sat down and stared at him. During the day I had finally managed to read Seiyes' "What is the Third Estate" and it all made sense. We are the nation. We have no choice but to go to war against the nobility and clergy. They had spent years degrading us and keeping our thoughts and ideas down below their boots. The revolution had been in the works for quite some time but it was difficult to grasp the fact that it was actually here. I don't feel any different.
