Trudy: A bag lady who used to be a creative consultant says she is now in contact with aliens, and that going crazy was the best thing that ever happened to her. She can now tell people who ask how to get to Carnegie Hall, "Practice!" She says she came up with the color scheme for Howard Johnson's, and thought of putting pantyhose in an egg-shaped container. Trudy says she’s waiting for the aliens, who are looking for "Signs of Intelligent Life," to meet her here, on "the corner of 'Walk,' 'Don't Walk.'" She says other witty things about reality, the nature of space and time, and how the mind is like a piñata. She claims her umbrella hat causes her to tune in to the lives of other people. For the rest of the play, we see slices of life from the perspective of those people. Trudy switches first into the mind of an actress...
