Trudy: She reads a farewell note from the aliens, who thank her, and say that at the play they finally got goose bumps. They were watching the audience – a group of strangers laughing and crying together about the same things – and said that was what gave them goose bumps. The play, they said, was soup, the audience, art. Trudy imagines the universe watching, and those on earth making it laugh and cry together, and one day giving everyone in the universe goose bumps.
