Kate: Greets her friend Lonnie and complains about the wait and her arrogant hairdresser, Bucci. She bemoans her haircut as uneven and too radical, saying Bucci insists that he's an artist. She tells Lonnie about an article that describes how you can actually die from boredom. She finds the article boring. She tells her in a roundabout way that she went to Rafael's last night with a man with whom she's having an affair. She wants her husband Freddy to find out and get angry. Freddy hasn't even noticed the loss of her fingertip in a food processing accident. She says she's glad her dream of being a concert violinist didn't come true. She mentions that she's going to see a play, apparently The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, tonight. She rips out the article about "Rich People's Burn-Out" to make copies for her friends. We move back to Trudy...
