While recently writing my Zoloft Hug homepage, i realized that i had become inspired to fix up the 41West homepage as well. There were really two motivations for this. Obviously, i wanted to link 41west to my band. Most of us in the band live on the hall, so therefore, we are a band on 41west (a hall band). My second motivation for rewriting the hall webpage was that it never existed. Yes that's right. 41West.html never existed, and the page that was linked to it's place was actually created by Larries from 1992. The only major exception was "Around the World With Steve Sadoway".
Therefore, I cleaned and organized the 41west www locker. Then, i began the coding of a spanking new 41west web page, which includes some of the traditional contents and features of the old page. i preserved the original Larry page so that it is still in functioning condition. You may access the old Larry page from our new 41west page.
I admit that i created only a draft of our new homepage. During those five hours of manual coding, my main goal was to implement the BASIC FUNCTIONALITY of our future web page, not make it look pretty.
This is where YOU guys come in. The new 41west web site right is good enough to be placed on the web, but i think that THERE IS A DEFINITE LACK OF CONTENT on our web page. We need more pictures (like dana's party pictures, is dune.mit.edu still up?). We need more creative writings. We need our 1999 hall photo to be scanned and placed on the web. We need people to select backgrounds and colors. Basically, web surfers like to see crazy shit, interesting writings, and funny photos.
I know you guys can help. if you have a pencil and an extra five minutes (maybe between classes), write a little paragraph or poem about our hall. If you know how to play with html (i don't), then take a little time and improve our page. I know you super 6-3'ers can accomplish a lot in five minutes. Use your nerdy skills for the love of 41west.
Oh... and one last thing. Don't bust on my hard work (frank & will), because my feelings get hurt very easily. I am a sensitive guy. If you can, just fix the problem without bothering me. If anyone has any questions or submissions, just email it to 41w-webmasters@MIT.EDU.
