MIT now offers an official electronic transcript, which can be delivered to any valid email address via secure certified PDF. The recipient is notified by email to download the electronic PDF transcript from a secure web site. This site employs the highest levels of security and encryption, and it complies with all requirements of FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as amended).
Most eTranscript orders will be delivered to the recipient within 30 minutes of the order. If you attended MIT before 1994 or participated in the Cambridge-MIT Exchange Program, your order will be processed and delivered within one business day. If your transcript is being sent to a recipient who requires additional documentation, the ordering service allows you to upload standard file types such as PDF or JPG. Please be aware that orders that include any forms to be completed by the Registrar’s Office may require additional processing time.
NOTE: Before selecting this option, it is recommended that you check with the transcript recipient to confirm that they will accept etranscripts.
Official paper copies of transcripts may also be ordered online. Most paper transcript orders are processed and sent within one to two business days. You may choose delivery by USPS first class mail or express shipping. If your transcript is being sent to a recipient that requires additional documentation, the ordering service allows you to upload standard file types such as PDF or JPG.
Additional charges apply if you need express shipping.
Current Students
Students with an active Kerberos account must order transcripts online.
Note: Access to this service is provided through Touchstone which requires an MIT Digital certificate or Kerberos credentials. If you need assistance with installing or troubleshooting certificates, please visit the IS&T Certificates site.
Former Students with Infinite Connection Accounts
Students who enrolled at MIT in the past and have an Infinite Connection account can order transcripts online.
Note: If you would like to explore setting up an Infinite Connection account, please contact the MIT Alumni Association.
Others Who Do Not Have Infinite Connection Accounts
If you do not have an Infinite Connection account, you may order your transcript online by creating an account with our transcript ordering service or following these instructions to send us a signed request by mail.
The base cost for a transcript is $8.00. In addition, a $2.00 handling charge will be added for each transcript that is ordered online. Current students who are eligible can avoid the handling charge by choosing to post the charges to their student account. Payment options will be displayed at checkout in the ordering process. Former students can avoid handling charges by placing orders via mail.
