Global Stability of Frequency Estimation
Online identification of sinusoidal components is an important problem that occurs in active noise control, vibration suppression, on line health monitoring, and radar, sonar, and seismic applications. We have adopted an approach to this identification problem that consists of the utilization of the underlying nonlinearlity and an algorithm that is based on the nonlinear parameterization. The algorithm is shown to result in global convergence in the presence of two unknown frequencies. Current work concerns the extension of this
approach to signals with $n$ unknown frequencies and amplitudes.
