- MSI Information
- Repackaged from the Mechanical
Engineering departments distribution.
- Repackaged with InstallShield AdminStudio. Needed to run the software
locally otherwise the setup.bat file would fail.
- Remove everything under HKCU and under System within HKLM.
- Set sc32w.dll to "override system language".
- Removed the shortcuts for registration wizard and solid network license
administration.
- Configuration Issues
- These MSI is configured to run from the ME license servers, you must use
this for educational purposes on the MIT campus network (18.).
- The program works fine, however, the first time a user runs the program
they will get the following "errors":
- After first starting the program a user will see "toolbar information
is inconsistient, default toolbar setting will be used" - Here
say "OK" and you should never see this again unless you reset
your roaming profile.
- When the welcome screen comes up, if you select "New Document"
you will get the following: "Templates cannot be created in the
present location C:\... Please use the browser to select a new location,
etc..." - Here click on OK and on the following screen select a
directory that you have write access to - My Documents is probably the
easiest. This should only happen the first time you run the program,
or again if your profile is reset.
