Orchestra Bio
Alexia Schulz began playing
the violin at the age of 8 in the Suzuki program at Northern Arizona
University, in Flagstaff, AZ. She studied there with Ruth Engle Larner,
Dr. Louise Scott and Douglas Locke. While in college, she played in the
Boston University Symphony Orchestra, and also performed with the Jamaica
Plain Symphony. She was the concertmaster of the Harvard University
graduate student orchestra at Dudley House from 1998-2002. From 2002-2005,
she served in the US Air Force. While stationed at Kirtland AFB, NM, she
was a member of the Albuquerque Symphony Orchestra. She then moved
to Berkeley to complete her Ph.D studies. From 2005-2007, she performed there with
the Prometheus Symphony Orchestra.
She moved to Princeton NJ for postdoctoral studies, and played from 2007-2010
with the orchestra of the Westminster Choir College. She also performed
with the Kaleidoscope Orchestra in the Westminster Faculty Chamber Series.
From 2010 - 2013, Alexia lived in Los Alamos, NM, and played with the
Los Alamos
Symphony Orchestra.. She has now relocated back to the greater Boston area,
and has been performing with the
Waltham Symphony Orchestra.
