Profile
John Miller is one of several strong freshmen joining
this year's squad. At 6'6", he looks to help fill the void left
by last year's large graduating class.
John comes to MIT from Winchester High School in
Winchester, MA, where he played two years of Varsity Basketball
for Coach Quinton Dale and the Sachems. As a sophomore and a postseason
callup, he was part of a Winchester team that reached the Division
2 North semifinals, losing to the eventual state champs from East
Boston. As a senior, John made significant contributions to a team
that contended for a conference championship in the very competitive
Middlesex League and reached the second round of the Division 2
North Championships. All in all, John led a senior class that played
in the State Tournament for three consecutive seasons.
John's parents, John and Joan, are graduates of
MIT while his brother, Doug, and sister, Mary, both attend the McCall
Middle School in Winchester. The Miller family figures to be at
many of the Engineers' games. John enjoys skiing, the outdoors,
music, and ESPN. He is considering becoming a doctor or working
in the Bio-Tech industry.
