Profile
Danny Kanamori is the sophomore point guard and
a captain for the Engineers. As a freshman, he led the league in
assists, finishing third in the country. With a year under his belt,
he hopes to help lead MIT to the NCAA tournament.
Danny came from Brookline High School where he
started as a Junior playing under Coach Lance Tucker (now at Emmanuel)
in the competetive Bay State League. As a senior, he led the team
in points, assists, and steals; earning himself team MVP and a spot
as one of the conferance's First Team All-Stars. Taking a post-graduate
year before attending MIT, he went on to play for Phillips Exeter
Academy. In his one year, he lead the Big Red to an upsetting victory
over New Hampton as he broke the single game assist record (13);
he also holds the single season assist record (147).
Danny's Mother, Tamara, an MIT alum, and father,
a CalTech alum, are regulars at the MIT games. His brother, Ari,
plays as a sophomore at Brookline High School. Danny enjoys movies,
acting, Boston sports, and politics, as he is the Freshman Class
President at MIT. He plans to do a double major in Politcal Science
and Computer Science, as well as a minor in Theater.
