Gary Atkins attended Hazelwood East High School in Saint Louis, Missouri. During his three year span on the varsity basketball team, he made All conference academic team three years in a row, second team all tournament and helped his team have three winning seasons. At Hazelwood East, led by Coach Ron Banks,Gary averaged 6 ppg, 8 rpg, 2 blocks per game, and 2 assist per game.

Gary Atkins is the proud son of Richard and Diane Atkins. Richard Atkins, is Chief Architect and owner of TDP/St. Louis. Diane Atkins is the owner of Real Estate 2000. Gary plans on majoring in Architecture, with a possible minor in either material science or urban studies.

In his spare time, Gary likes to sleep, eat, and spend time with his friends. Aside from basketball, Gary also enjoys playing volleyball, football, and tennis. One of his most memorable moments was playing basketball against Nelly and the St. Lunatics as well as Darius Miles from the LA Clippers.
