Profile
Sophmore Adam Gibbons returns this year as one
of the captains of the team. Last year he averaged 14 points per
game, 31.5 minutes per game , and was named rookie of the year for
the MIT Engineers.
Adam Gibbons came to MIT from Bridgewater-Raritan
High School in Brigewater, NJ. There, he received first team All-Conference,
All-County, All-Area, and All-Group IV honors. Adam was also named
third team All-State. During his tenure in Bridgewater, Adam helped
lead his team to back-to-back conference, county, and group IV central
jersey championships, as well as an appearance in the state finals.
As captain, under head coach Tim Ortelli, Gibbons helped his team
earn a 25-2 record his senior year.
Adam's mother, Celeste, and father, Walter, are
both strong supporters of MIT basketball. Walter, in fact, is a
graduate of MIT. Adam's two younger sisters, Melanie and Felicia,
both play basketball as well. Melanie is a junior in high school,
and Felicia is in eighth grade.
