CPALMS: Rigorously Vetted Resources Serving Educators around the World

CPALMS is an online toolbox of information, vetted resources, and interactive tools that helps K-12 educators effectively implement teaching standards. CPALMS provides access to thousands of standards-aligned, free, and high-quality instructional/educational resources developed specifically for the standards and vetted through a rigorous review process.

Resources on CPALMS are aligned with Florida’s teaching standards and with the Common Core State Standards. CPALMS has more than 7,000 published resources supporting the implementation of the math, science, and English language arts standards.

Each and every one of these resources has gone through a rigorous review process that includes teachers and subject area experts. More than 90% of the resources on CPALMS are original, which means they were developed on CPALMS and are available only on CPALMS.

The resource-development programs on CPALMS include complete lesson plans and units of instruction, integrated STEM lessons, Perspectives video series, math formative assessments, lesson study resource kits and support system, games/simulations, and much more. One of our new initiatives, CPALMS Code, is creating STEM curricular resources related to programming and high-level coding syntax as a method for interacting with simulations, statistics, games, and data visualizations. Another new initiative, CPALMS 3D, is developing many resources that utilize 3D modeling and 3D printing as a mechanism to teach STEM concepts. All these resources are freely available to educators.

CPALMS also includes the iCPALMS platform with 16 state-of-the-art curriculum planning and professional development apps/tools. One of these applications is the iCPALMS CMAP, a curriculum planner for the 21st century that is intuitive, interactive, collaborative, and serves as a teaching assistant that provides smart and just-in-time recommendations.

CPALMS was created and is being developed by the Florida Center for Research in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (FCR–STEM) within the Learning Systems Institute at the Florida State University. Over the last few years, CPALMS served tens of millions of visitors from all over the world. We invite you to give it a try and use some of the excellent resources.
