Integrated Photonic Devices and Materials Group

Ryan Williams was a member of Prof. Kolodziejski's research group from 2000 to 2007 earning a Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering. He conducted research in the development of bipolar cascade lasers employing InAs quantum dots allowing 1300nm emission from the GaAs material system and the fabrication and characterization of an ultra-fast optical logic gate based on an InP-based Mach Zehnder Interferometers resulting in a Ph.D. thesis titled "Photonic Integrated Circuits for Optical Logic Applications." He is currently employed at the Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems.
