Dear Marc, Mad Dog is an easy target. The young hip men are all cool, and a
cool young sorceress playing at a sexy man becomes the image of a hip man.
The images of hip young men who scored on women, on women concerned
only with how the men take them, prevailed over any other anti-patriarchal
dimensions.
I don't remember quite what I said, but it is impossible to get people to
see
a joke when they won't go along for the ride. I think the complaints were
pretty much unanimous. I don't know if I dare try it again to see if I'd
have
better luck. One thing I would do differently, I would try to prep the class
beforehand. ken harrow
