This is a Call for Papers for Issue #44 of CineAction whose theme is
'Performance'. The editors invite analysis of star personas, acting styles
(both classical and contemporary, in Hollywood or International cinemas),
collaborations between directors and performers, the expressive embodiment
of particular types such as 'the hero' or 'the blonde', the articulation of
specific kinds of performances in silent or sound cinema and dramatic or
comic modes. Theoretical discussions of performance styles are encouraged
as
well.

Deadline for submissions is August 15, 1997. Please send them to the editors
