Marie Twitchell, Georgetown Visitor Center

Marie Twitchell moved to Georgetown "a few years ago" when she and her husband retired from their working lives in Washington, DC. She said they were tired of traffic and snow and wanted to go someplace warmer and more relaxed. Having lived in San Antonio (about two hours south of Georgetown by car), they decided to move to Central Texas.

Though she works in the visitor center, Ms. Twitchell said she knows very little about the "nice little town" she lives in, but has found that there really isn't enough shopping and is looking forward to the WalMart Supercenter and Home Depot that will be arriving soon. Georgetown is almost a suburb now, she said, but "you can't compare Georgetown to Washington, D.C."
