"Okay." The mother exhales and turns as her daughter rolls into the elevator already waiting there. She clips the rope back on the post behind her and squeezes in, resting her hand on an appliqued flower on her daughter's shoulder. "I'm sorry."
The daughter nods and they ride down in silence.
