We got our paperwork together and started working on signatures. As campaign manager, I was outside three or four afternoons a week on the street, getting people to sign our petition. Most were intreagued by the prospect of having a kid as mayor, even though most above 25 didn't seem like they'd vote for Eric, no matter who he ran against.

We were handing out flyers and making speeches. It was crazy.
