We finished getting the signatures we needed, just by the deadling of March 30. It was one of the most incredible feelings I've ever had, getting a friend of mine on the ballot for a major US election, which had just been a lot of talk a few months earlier. Even if we didn't win, we had blown away all the naysayers who didn't think we'd get anywhere close to where we had.

About this time, we started making the game plan for the summer. More campaigning, hang around the hatch shell a lot, talk to people, make as many connections with students as possible, work on the platform more. We had expanded our initial student-interested goals of booze and transportation to have a somewhat more worldly view--we were gonna offer incentives to keep businesses open later, repave Mass Ave, and sponsor more concerts over the summer. This last one came because we were really looking forward to a lot of concerts during the summer.

We buckeled down and got ready for the haul ahead.
