And that's about all I have to say. Eric got really caught up right before the election, to the point of making me feel like shit. It wasn't about changing the world anymore, it was about his own agenda. I guess I just didn't get it. He had lost sight of the original goal of shaking things up, and was now ready to become part of the system. It was an incredible transformation.

Here we are, on Election Day, and it's actually quite possible he'll be the next mayor of Boston, as ridiculous as that now seems. But I guess it's a fascinating lesson about power corruption. Give an inch, they take a mile, and all those other epigrams that talk about what happens to the famous and powerful.

As it turns out, I'm pretty glad I turned him down to run for mayor. Given the choice between fame and anonimity, I'll talk anonimity. Once you have fame, you can't go back.
