Winter came and we were about half-way to the signatures we needed. We decided to take a break for a while, since it was freezing standing out there on street corners, and nobody wanted to stop, take off their gloves and sign a petition. It was okay, since we had a decent idea of where we were and where we were going.
About this time, newspapers got wind of what we were tryiung to do
and started calling me:
"Eric Karian?"
"Yes. Can I help you?"
"I'm a reporter for the Boston Herald and I was wondering how serious
your bid for Boston mayor really is."
"Well, we have quite a few of the signatures we need, and are implementing
student voter registration drives in local colleges, so I'd say pretty
damn serious."
