Summer came quick. We made it through finals, and now the door-to-door picked up. All this was free, mind you, even though people were starting to contribute money. We didn't have to worry about any of those campaign finance laws (as pathetically lousy as they are) because we were getting so little money it didn't matter.

We used the money we got to make photocopies. At one point we considered a TV spot, and had someone all lined up willing to shoot the video using equipment they borrowed from their AV department, but we decided it wasn't worth the cost, since nobody was gonna change their mind to vote for me based on a 30-second spot of such poor quality used car commercials would appear to have high production value. So we saved the dough, and went to work on an email campaign. We also relied heavily on our web site, which often crashed.
