After some small talk with Norman, Tom goes to check on the situation in the dining room, but comes right back. Anne peaks in briefly to say all hell has broken loose in the dining room. Tom thinks that wine might help ease the fight. Norman tells Tom to walk in laughing, because that will break the tension. Tom agrees to try, and leaves.
