EDUCATION

Education is one of DeepArch's top priorities, and it comes in a variety of forms. Seminars and conferences bring professional archaeologists, scientists, and social scientists together to learn from each other about the challenges that they face when dealing with deep water research. DeepArch courses for undergraduate and graduate students at MIT provide a background on archaeological theory, the evolution of maritime archaeology, cutting-edge deep-sea robotics, and discussion on how to push the limits of current methodology and techniques. Finally, public education is accomplished through lectures, book and journal publications, television documentaries, and other forms of popular media.
