Motivation

Simulation of the space environment used in astronaut training is most frequently performed underwater, where objects can be made neutrally buoyant. Due to the high viscosity of water compared to the vacuum conditions of space, there is significantly more drag on objects under these testing conditions than in the actual space environment. As a result, astronauts have experienced difficulties in space despite their pre-mission training.
