Syllogos Announcement
| Announcement : Dear Friends, I am very delighted to announce that OCTEONs, the soccer team of the Hellenic Students' Association, has won the MIT Intramural soccer league. The big final was held yesterday at MIT, and after an exciting game our team defeated the team of the Turkish Association in the penalty shots. The full time result was tied at 1-1. The Turks scored first, but we equalized before the end of the second half. There was no goal in the extra time, so the winner was decided in the penalty shots. The penalty shots procedure was too intense and exciting but our players were very composed and we managed to win 3-2. We would like to thank all the fans that showed up and cheered for us today. Your support is greatly appreciated and boosted our performance. We would also like to thank Cavium Networks (www.cavium.com), our sponsors who provided the necessary funding for apparel and equipment. They were always very close to the team and showed great enthusiasm, long before the league started. We have video footage from all the OCTEONs games and we are planning to create a DVD with the most important moments of our way to winning the final. We will have a very special screening event, after we edit the footage, so that people can re-live the excitement!
