"We visited a woman with polio who has participated in
Special Olympics marathons in a chair she built herself from
old bicycle wheels. Even though I've seen sights that have
really upset and saddened me, there are also some signs that
have been reassuring. A big group of us walk into a house
that barely has a corrugated tin roof, straw mat for walls,
and a dirt floor, and people will offer us their couches or,
more often, their very beds to sit on."
