5.7.6 Implicit algebraic curve/rational polynomial parametric surface intersection (Case E9)

The implicit algebraic curve and rational polynomial parametric surface intersection is defined as:

By substituting into and we obtain two algebraic curves and . This formulation reduces to IA/IA curve intersection, Case D8 in Sect. 5.6.5 (see Fig. 5.17). A more detailed discussion of algebraic curves is given in Sect. 5.8.1.
